Traditional uses

Chaga has been used as a folk medicine across Russia, Siberia, Scandinavia, and Indigenous boreal North America for centuries. Traditionally valued as an immune-supporting and deeply nourishing tonic herb, prepared as a long-simmered decoction or tea. The mushroom was sometimes called the 'gift of God' in Siberian folk tradition.

Suggested use

Simmer 1-2 tsp of ground chaga in 4 cups of water on low heat for 1-3 hours. Strain and drink. The tea has an earthy, lightly vanilla character. The grounds can be re-simmered until the colour fades. Many enjoy chaga tea on its own, with maple syrup, or blended with cacao.

Care & safety

Avoid if on blood-thinning, diabetes, or immunosuppressant medications. Not recommended during pregnancy or with kidney disease. May interact with autoimmune medications. Consult a healthcare provider before regular use.
