Tradition
White sage has been used in smudging traditions by many North American Indigenous peoples for centuries. Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) carries a parallel tradition in European folk medicine, where it has been long associated with dreams, protection, and gentle smoke-cleansing of homes. The pairing brings together two distinct herbal traditions.
How to use
Place the incense stick in a heat-safe holder. Light the tip and let it catch flame for a few seconds. Gently blow out the flame so the stick smoulders and releases fragrant smoke. One stick burns for about 30-45 minutes.
Care & safety
Light incense in a well-ventilated space. Place in a heat-safe burner with sand or stone insulation to catch ash. Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep away from curtains, paper, pets, and children.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place. Keep sealed if possible to preserve the aromatic oils.
