About the stone

Shungite is a black, lustrous mineraloid composed of more than 98% carbon. Found primarily near the village of Shunga in Karelia, Russia — from which it takes its name. The stone has been the subject of scientific interest for its unusual molecular structure, including documented trace amounts of fullerenes.

In crystal tradition

In crystal tradition, shungite is long-valued for grounding and protection. The brick form is practical and stable — often kept as a workspace piece, beside electronics, or as the base layer of a crystal grid where its flat profile and weight keep things in place.

Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
