About the stone

Rutilated quartz forms when needle-like crystals of rutile (titanium dioxide) grow inside clear quartz, often appearing as fine golden, copper, or reddish strands. The two minerals form together over geological time, producing a single specimen with both. Sometimes called 'angel hair quartz' or 'Venus hair stone' for the delicate, hair-like appearance of the rutile needles.
