About the plant
Palo Santo — "holy wood" in Spanish — is the aromatic wood of Bursera graveolens, a tree native to the dry forests of Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia. It has been used for thousands of years by Indigenous peoples of the region, burned in ceremony to clear a space, honour ancestors, and prepare for prayer. Traditionally, only naturally fallen branches are gathered — the tree's resinous compounds develop most fully once the wood has rested on the forest floor.

Care & Safety
Before first lighting, trim the wick to 1/4" and burn until a full wax pool forms across the surface (about two hours). After that, burn in 4–6 hour sessions, let the wax cool fully between lightings, and keep the wick trimmed throughout. Place the candle on a stable, heat-safe surface, away from pets, curtains, and anything flammable. If your candle holds a crystal or charm, it can stay embedded until the candle is finished — or be removed after the first burn by setting the jar in an inch of low-heat water until the wax melts.
