About the stone

Ocean jasper — sometimes called sea jasper — was found at a single deposit on the northwestern coast of Madagascar, accessible only at low tide. The original deposit is now considered exhausted, making remaining stock historically significant. The 'orbs' or rings characteristic of ocean jasper are spherulitic crystallization patterns formed during the stone's volcanic origin.

In crystal tradition

In crystal tradition, ocean jasper is associated with the heart chakra and is long-valued as a stone of joy, optimism, and gentle nurturing — often called a 'stone of contentment.' The colourful orb patterns suggest the qualities, with each piece uniquely patterned.

Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
