About the stone
Fluorite is calcium fluoride — a stone famous for its range of colour: purple, green, blue, yellow, clear, often banded together in a single specimen. The name fluorite comes from the Latin fluere (to flow), referring to its historical use as a flux in metalworking.
In crystal tradition
In crystal tradition, fluorite is associated with the third eye and throat chakras, and is long-valued for mental clarity, focus, and discernment. Often kept on a desk or workspace, used as a study companion, or carried as a touchstone during decision-making.
Care
Fluorite is a soft stone (Mohs hardness 4) — handle gently, avoid drops, and keep out of prolonged sunlight as the colours can fade. Cleanse with sound, smoke, or moonlight.
Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
