About the stone
Chalcedony is the broad term for cryptocrystalline quartz — quartz where the crystals are too small to be seen individually with the naked eye, giving the stone a smooth, waxy appearance. Many varieties of chalcedony have their own trade names: agate, carnelian, jasper, onyx, and others are all chalcedonies. 'Shamanic Chalcedony' is a Mexican variety, soft grey-blue.
In crystal tradition
In crystal tradition, chalcedony broadly is long-valued as a calming, balancing stone. The soft grey-blue Mexican variety is sometimes used in crystal practice for meditation or quiet contemplation work.
Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
