About the stone

Celestite — also called celestine — is a strontium sulfate mineral, the soft sky-blue colour giving it its celestial name. Madagascar produces the most prized specimens, where celestite grows in geode-like clusters with crystalline interiors. The mineral is also a primary source of strontium for industrial use.

In crystal tradition

In crystal tradition, celestite is associated with the crown and throat chakras and is long-valued as a high-vibration stone of peace, dream work, and gentle clarity. The soft sky-blue colour suggests the qualities — often kept in bedrooms or meditation spaces.

Care

Celestite is soft (Mohs 3-3.5) and water-sensitive — handle gently, avoid drops, and do not place in water or salt baths. Cleanse with sound, smoke, or moonlight. Direct sun can fade the soft blue colour.

Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
