About the artist

Carolyn Quan

Toronto-raised visionary photographic artist whose career began in commercial design and photography at OCAD before two decades as a music-industry art director in New York — designing album covers for Aretha Franklin, the Grateful Dead, INXS, KISS, Sarah Brightman, and Placido Domingo, among others, and earning four gold records. After the events of 9/11, she moved into fine art full-time. She is best known for fine art photo collages — original photographs woven together into imaginative compositions inspired by spirituality, nature, and the human form. Her work has been recognized with nineteen American Art Awards, an Award of Merit at the La Quinta Arts Festival, and inclusion in the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute. She exhibits internationally and is currently based in the American Southwest.
