About the stone

Calcite is calcium carbonate — the same mineral that forms limestone, marble, and seashells. It crystallizes in many varieties and colours, ranging from the optically clear (Iceland Spar) to vivid blues, oranges, greens, and pinks depending on trace minerals.

In crystal tradition

In crystal tradition, blue calcite is associated with the throat chakra and is long-valued as a calming stone — believed to support gentle communication, relaxation, and clear expression. Often kept in bedroom and meditation spaces, or carried as a touchstone for moments of overwhelm.

Care

Calcite is a soft stone (Mohs hardness 3) — handle gently, avoid drops, and keep away from harder crystals that could scratch it. Cleanse with sound, smoke, or moonlight rather than salt or extended water exposure.

Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
