Silver has been used in folk medicine for over two thousand years — coins were dropped into water and milk to keep them fresh in pre-refrigeration eras, and silver was traditionally used in topical applications and wound care before the development of modern antibiotics.

Care & safety
Important: Health Canada has not approved colloidal silver for internal use. Long-term internal use can cause argyria (a permanent grey-blue skin discolouration) and may interfere with antibiotics, thyroid medications, and other prescription drugs.
