About the stone

Calcite is calcium carbonate — the same mineral that forms limestone, marble, and seashells. It crystallizes in many varieties and colours, ranging from the optically clear (Iceland Spar) to vivid blues, oranges, greens, and pinks depending on trace minerals. Mangano calcite gets its soft pink colour from manganese inclusions, distinguishing it from other calcite varieties.

In crystal tradition

In crystal tradition, mangano calcite is associated with the heart chakra and is long-valued as a stone of compassion and emotional gentleness. The soft pink hue suggests the heart-centered qualities, often kept in bedrooms or meditation spaces or carried as a touchstone during periods that ask for self-compassion.

Care

Calcite is a soft stone (Mohs hardness 3) — handle gently, avoid drops, and keep away from harder crystals that could scratch it. Cleanse with sound, smoke, or moonlight rather than salt or extended water exposure.

Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
