About the stone

Calcite is calcium carbonate — the same mineral that forms limestone, marble, and seashells. It crystallizes in many varieties and colours, ranging from the optically clear (Iceland Spar) to vivid blues, oranges, greens, and pinks depending on trace minerals. Mangano calcite gets its soft pink colour from manganese inclusions, distinguishing it from other calcite varieties.
