Traditional uses
Licorice has been one of the most widely-used herbs across Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Mediterranean traditions for thousands of years. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it's used as a 'harmonizing' herb in many formulas. Traditionally valued for respiratory support, digestive comfort, and as a sweet base for herbal tea blends.
Suggested use
Brew 1 tsp per cup, simmer covered for 10 minutes. Often combined with other herbs to soften their taste. Use sparingly — a little goes a long way.
Care & safety
Important: licorice can raise blood pressure and lower potassium with regular use. Avoid if you have high blood pressure, kidney disease, heart conditions, low potassium, or are pregnant. Limit regular use to short periods. Consult a healthcare provider before use, especially if taking any medication.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry, dark place in a sealed container.
