About the stone
Caribbean Blue Calcite is a recently-discovered variety of calcite from Pakistan, first identified in 2019. The soft, almost tropical-water blue colour comes from trace mineral inclusions. Like all calcite, it is a calcium carbonate (the same compound as limestone, marble, and seashells), formed over geological time through sedimentary processes.
In crystal tradition
In crystal tradition, blue calcite is associated with the throat chakra and is long-valued as a calming stone — believed to support gentle communication, relaxation, and clear expression. Often kept in bedroom and meditation spaces, or on a desk for moments of overwhelm. Used in crystal grids as a centering stone among more activating crystals.
Care
Calcite is a soft stone (Mohs hardness 3) — handle gently, avoid drops, and keep away from harder crystals that could scratch it. Cleanse with sound, smoke, or moonlight rather than salt or extended water exposure.
Each piece is one of a kind. Natural variations in colour, shape, size, and pattern are part of what makes the stone what it is — the photograph shows a representative example, your piece will look slightly different.
