Traditional uses
Ashwagandha has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over three thousand years. Sometimes called 'Indian ginseng,' it's classified as a rasayana — a rejuvenating herb. Traditionally valued for adapting to stress, supporting calm energy, and promoting restorative sleep. The Sanskrit name means 'smell of horse,' referring both to its earthy aroma and to its traditional use for vitality and strength.
Suggested use
Brew 1 tsp per cup, simmer covered for 10-15 minutes. Often taken with warm milk and honey in the Ayurvedic tradition. The taste is earthy and bitter — many prefer it in capsule or powder form.
