Ajwain Seeds

  • Ayurvedic spice used as a carminative in treating flatulence and indigestion.
  • Contains the highest percentage of thymol which has shown to have local anesthetic, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
  • This flavorful, strongly pungent seed is featured in Indian, African, and Middle-Eastern cuisine.
  • Its flavor closely resembles that of thyme due to the predominant essential oil thymol.

Suggested Use:  Use 1/2  teaspoon of seed to each cup of water. Bring to boil and let simmer for 5 minutes, drink warm. Grind seeds and use in your favorite dish towards the end of the cooking process (to keep the flavor intact). Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.
