About Styrian pumpkin seeds
The Styrian oil pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo var. styriaca) developed in southern Austria from a natural mutation in the late 1800s — pumpkins whose seeds had no woody hull. The seeds are dark forest green, with a deeper flavour and richer oil content than common pumpkin seeds. Styria has been cultivating them as both a food crop and an oil crop for over 150 years.
