Traditional uses
Irish moss has been used along the coasts of Ireland, Britain, and the Maritime provinces of Canada for centuries — both as a food thickener and as a folk remedy. Traditionally valued for the lungs and for digestion, and as a nourishing source of minerals from the sea.
Suggested use
Rinse thoroughly to remove sand and debris. Soak in cool water for 12-24 hours; the seaweed will plump and soften. Blend with fresh water to make a gel that thickens smoothies, dairy-free desserts, and skincare. Replace gelatin in recipes 1:1.
