Traditional uses
Sweet gale (Myrica gale) is a small fragrant shrub native to northern wetlands. In Indigenous and Northern European folk traditions it has been valued as an aromatic herb, brewed as a tea, and traditionally associated with deepening sleep and dream recall.
Suggested use
Heat water to 85°C / 185°F. Steep covered for 3-4 minutes. Best taken in the evening. May be enjoyed plain or with honey. Steeped aroma: fruity, fresh, with floral and honey undertones. May be re-brewed.
