Ego Death
“Ego Death” is an exploration of transformation, a journey through the self as we transcend beyond the confines of our constructed identities. This mixed media piece is a visual meditation on the dissolution of the ego and the awakening to our true essence.
An ancient clock melds into the background, its hands ticking away moments that shape our transient lives. In the foreground, a man’s face splits open to reveal a vibrant green skull, symbolizing the shedding of egoic layers to uncover the raw, untouched self within. The eye at the center of the forehead, encased in a maze, represents the intricate journey through our inner thoughts towards enlightenment.
Surrounding the figure, mushrooms and a departing raven illustrate the ancient path of self-discovery and the enigma of the subconscious. The seated man at the base, deep in meditation by the tree of life, peers into a spiraling well, delving into the depths of self for wisdom and liberation from ego’s grasp.

Confronted with a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, he turned to alternative healing practices, finding profound insight and transformation through the ancient wisdom of the Shipibo tribe in the Peruvian Amazon. These experiences greatly influenced his perception of the interconnectedness of humanity and the environment, which is a central theme in his artwork. His creations are intended to be catalysts for positive transformation, emotional healing, and heightened self-awareness, reflecting the intrinsic universal bonds that tie us together.
